So, guess what we did yesterday------we went HOUSE SHOPPING! OMG, I am so excited it's not even funny!
We've been fooling around with the idea of buying a house for awhile, but just recently decided that 2009 is the year! Yes, the $8000 tax credit is the reason behind this. I faxed over my pre-qualification form to our lender and he said we'll have no problems getting approved for a loan, it's just going to depend on how much we want to pay per month. Eeeee!
So, then I started shopping online. We're looking for a rancher with a min of 2 bathrooms and in the north area of town. Holy shit there's a lot of houses for sale. But one must be weary of the cheap places. There's a new subdivision called Brookwillows, or something like that, that's full of crappy duplexes and condos. The prices are very attractive, but when we drove by it's like the Wal-Mart of neighborhoods.....very cookie cutter, cheaply made (Danielle I know you've had experience with this builder company) and there were extremely tacky FOR SALE flags all over. I literally felt like I was in the house aisle at Wally World!
We did find two houses we liked on Friday night after driving around with KT and Jared. One was a super cute little rancher and the other was a 2 story duplex. I called my realtor (who happens to be my cousin) to set up an appt to see the little rancher. He got us in at 1:30 yesterday! So, we went down there with my parents and Hubbs' parents and looked at it. It is SO cute. The kitchen has a cut-out in the wall that faces the living room, and it's just a really nice starter home. The only problem is the master bedroom was super tiny. Like, we won't be able to fit our king-size bed that we bought in there. Deal breaker. Bummer. Then, our realtor said he also made an appt to see the vacant duplex down the street!.....
OMG!!!!! 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, walk-in closets in 3 of the bedrooms, galley style kitchen, laundry room, gas fire place, 2 car garage, and all appliances included, EVEN A DISH WASHER!!! (I know that's pretty much standard, but I haven't had one in 2 1/2 years and it's getting really old.) All for LESS than the other house!!! The kitchen also has a nice pantry! ....and the spare bedroom I have already assigned as the studio (hee hee) has two really awesome window seats. The part were the two sides of the duplex touch is not the main living space so we're good there. We'd just have to line the closet of the studio with egg crate to insulate the room really well.
*sigh* I love it. We both loved it actually, but Steve hated the stairs. I have to agree, there were a LOT of them! Yuk. The living room is also a bit on the small side but who cares?!? This is our first house! ....and it's only the 2nd house we've seen so we're obviously going to keep our options open. But....yeah. I've been daydreaming about the this little duplex since yesterday! LOL
So yeah. The house, plus Hubbs is involved with two small businesses----I'm seeing a very exciting future ahead. It's so weird. I was really starting to feel old since my 30th birthday is approaching this year and I usually do NOT get affected by that. I guess it's the gray hairs that are starting to peek through and the lines that are forming on my forehead. Grrr. Anyway, I'm turning 30 but......I'm losing weight (finally!), buying a house, and Hubbs is really getting going on a business. This is SO awesome! I guess being an adult isn't so bad. Only took me 12 years to get here! Tee hee!

Weigh in #4:
So, I've totally been off program for the last two weeks and I thought this morning would be just awful. I was fully expecting to gain more than 2 lbs. So, when I saw I gained ONE pound, I was thrilled! I HAVE to go grocery shopping today! That's my problem. I ran out of food in the house and have been eating out like crazy. You gots to have the staples around! So, yeah. After going to Wally World today, it's back on program! Yay!!!
-------------------------------------
The allergies are still REALLY bad. Yesterday was just awful. I know the only way to "cure" my allergies is with allergy shots, or immunotherapy. But that shit's expensive! $27 per shot and I have to go twice a week to start out with.....that's $216/mo! I've never been aware of my budget before....but now that we're buying a house I'm VERY aware. It sucks. I'm going to have to talk to my allergist and look at some alternatives. Maybe an air purifier? I don't know. Grrr. I hate this!!!

Eee! Weigh in # 3!
So, I totally thought today's weight in was going to be awful. Well, it WASN'T!
I lost 2.6 lbs! That's a total loss of 7.8lbs for an average of 2.6 lbs/week.
Superbowl Sunday was a planned off-program day. What wasn't planned was the rest of the off program days I had! I tried to track as well as I could. I'm pretty sure I used all 35 weekly points and then some. But, I did eat more fruits and veggies and got all of my waters in. Now, I just need to focus on the program to show another weight loss next week!
Ya know, I hope it's not going to be one of those things where I lose some one week, stay the same the next week, so on and so on. That would be frustrating!
Can we aim for another 2lbs. next week? We'll see!
P.S. I've ALSO gone from a 36 BMI to a 34 BMI already! Yay! (Yes, according to my BMI, I'm "obese." I don't quite agree. Overweight, yes. Obese? Probably not.) My ultimate goal is a BMI of 24. I'm SO on my way!

Weigh in #2
I stayed the same this week. :(
I'm trying not to get frustrated cuz if you average it out that's 2.6lbs lost per week.
I did really bad on getting 5 servings of fruit or veggies a day, so I'm thinking that also had something to do with it. Also, I usually hit right on the mark of 6 waters.
SO, up the fruits and veggies and water. I'll also have time for more activity this week.
So, here we go!
I'm not discouraged. I'm not discouraged. I'm not discouraged. I'm not discouraged. I'm not discouraged. I'm not discouraged...................
