Why do mornings hate me so? It doesn't matter what time I get to bed, getting up in the morning is SUCH a chore.
This morning
The Tonettes had to be at channel 9 news at 5:45 AM. (Yes, you read that right.) In order to be on time and in a mental state fit for singing, I had to curl my hair before I went to bed and get up 4:30 AM to make sure I had ample time to put my hair up, get my face on, and most importantly, drink some coffee and eat a banana. The "performance" went well and now, here I sit writing this post. I can feel that 4:30 wake-up reeking havoc on me. I get hungry headachy and my eyeballs burn. Oh yeah, did I mention I have a desk job that sometimes bores me to sleep when I DON'T get up before the butt crack of dawn???? Great.
I don't see a solution to my morning woes coming any time soon.....I just wanted to bitch about it. =)
In other news!.......
Just gettin' over the yearly sinus infection. I'm shocked I didn't get sick before now. So, instead I get it just in time for Singing Valentines! Yay! I was smart in going to my allergy specialist this time instead of my PCP. She gave me a Z-pak (azithromycin) which always works well for me. Not like my PCP who always starts me out on amoxicillin or some other worthless piece of shit......which doesn't work and I have to call in and get a Z-pak anyway. AND my allergist told me that if I don't feel better by today that I should call in for a refill......AND if it comes back, all I have to do is call in and she'll refill it for me then, too!
I love my allergist.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch.........
At work we're doing the RMHMC Triathlon Challenge. We have 14 days (Feb 22-March7) to complete a Ironman distance triathlon. That's a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run/walk. Sounds ridiculous, but if I spread it out over the full 14 days it's totally doable! It's only 6 laps in the pool, 8 miles on the bike, and 2 miles run/walk, per day! I'm excited for it cuz this is the kick in the ass I need to get my tri training started for real. I AM going to do the
Highline Hustle so, the earlier and more religiously I train, the less it's going to suck. .....and I just looked at the 2010 race site when I linked it to this post----registration is $55! Jesus!
On a sad note.........
My Uncle Raymie (Mom's brother) died yesterday. He was diagnosed with Leukemia last year and he lost his battle yesterday around 12:00. I'm sad for Ma and the family, but glad cuz now he's in a better place and not in pain anymore. Rest in peace, Tio Raymie!
Well, folks....that's all for now! Danielle, sorry I haven't been posting much, but I really want to post more this year, I swear! =) I'm sure I'll have lots to talk about when I start training. Yuk.
HAPPY FRIDAY!
